By use of functional movements, we have aimed to create a well-balanced training regimen to increase your capacity to move over time. Your personal achievement and constant improvement is our goal.

Our team has a wide scope of knowledge with coaching human movement. Our coaching experience is backed by decades of functional training and competition. From Pittsburgh to our gym floor, Ashlee brings a vibrant passion for fitness shaped by a life rich in diverse experiences. Starting with sports as a kid, navigating various fitness programs in college, and finally discovering her true calling in a functional fitness gym, she’s transformed her approach to fitness from a punitive measure to celebrating her body’s capabilities.

Her dedication is fueled by her family’s health journeys, aiming not just to improve her own wellbeing but to inspire those around her, including her family, to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Beyond the gym, Ashlee loves spending time with her dogs Penny & Tucker, devouring books, and exploring the world, with Fiji, Australia, and Hawaii under her belt last year alone.

From the bustling streets of Chicago to the sun-drenched shores of California, my life’s journey has been nothing short of an adventure, driven by love, a passion for fitness, and a fierce determination to defy genetics.

You might be wondering, “Why fitness?” For me, it’s deeply personal. With my family’s history with diabetes casting a long shadow, fitness became my shield and sword – a promise to myself to live healthier, stronger, and longer. Seven years ago, I embraced this mission, transitioning from bodybuilding zeal to becoming a maestro of strength and conditioning. And now, I’m thrilled to announce I’m taking my passion to the next level as a new coach at Train Matthews Gym!

But there’s more to life than just weights and workouts. Basketball is where my heart is, teaching me lessons in teamwork and determination that I carry with me every day.

Western Illinois University may have laid the educational groundwork, but real growth? That happened in the school of life.

Stepping into my role at Train Matthews Gym felt like destiny calling. The warm embrace, the unwavering support, and that indescribable vibe of belonging-it’s more than a team; it’s a family.So, here I stand, at the crossroads of passion and destiny, eager to embark on this next chapter. And I want YOU to be a part of it. Whether we’re smashing fitness goals, navigating life’s ups and downs, or cooing over our future puppy, we’re in it together.
